If unfortunately, you do not make it to a residency program, you need to have a further plan of action. If you wish to reapply in the next cycle it is worth while strengthening your application further.
Building up American experience and contacts would help immensely. Since the next cycle is about 1 year away you could plan a long-term clinical research, pre-residency training, clinical fellowship to make your application stronger.
You could also look at a 1 year Masters course in hospital administration (MHA) or Public Health administration (MPH). MHA and MPH programs links are available at the bottom of the page. You could also explore volunteering in a program.
