Preparation timeline
Starting 2024 ECFMG is making some changes with regard to the recognition of medical colleges. Presently all the colleges listed in the world directory of medical schools are recognized for the purpose of registration with the ECFMG. From 2024 instead of individual medical colleges, the registering body of the country  to which the colleges are affiliated should register with the ECFMG.
Till 2024, the present system of recognition will continue. If the countries bodies do not apply to ECFMG for recognition by 2024, graduates from those countries may not be able to apply for ECFMG  registration.
